Our collection of courses for initial training of Assisted Living Facility Staff & Volunteers in Colorado. This collection is designed to meet the updated requirements in 6 Colorado Regs. § 1011-1 Chapter 07, Part 7 - Personnel effective March 14, 2024. This collection also includes 4 hours of dementia-specific courses that align with the requirements of Section 7.9 (B), which establish dementia training requirements for Assisted Living Staff effective January 1, 2024.
This collection contains 19 courses, totalling 20.5 hours of training, and covers a number of topics including, the role of direct care staff, observation, reporting, and documentation, infection control, emergency response, basic first aid, incident reporting, residents’ rights, professionalism and communication in the healthcare team, behavioral supports, effective communication, falls prevention, safe transfers, food safety, and an overview of hospice care. Four hours of included dementia care training provides an introduction to dementia care, and instruction on person-centered dementia care, effective communication with individuals with dementia, and assisting with bathing and personal care for individuals with dementia.
This collection can be used as is, or customized with any of our other courses to create an effective, and informative initial training program for your Colorado-based Assisted Living staff.
