Our collection of courses for the initial 40 hour training of Home Health Aides in Florida is designed for agencies that train Home Health Aides for the purpose of employment with the agency, and meets the requirements stated in Section 59A-8.0095 - Personnel of the Florida Administrative Code. Additionally, this collection includes 4.5 hours of dementia-related training required by Section 430.5025 - Alzheimer's disease and related forms of dementia; education and training.
This collection contains 37 courses, totalling 40 hours of training, and covers a number of topics including, communication, observation, reporting and documentation, measuring vital signs, infection control, body functions that must be reported to the nurse supervisor, maintaining a clean and safe environment, safety and emergencies, the physical, emotional, and developmental characteristics of older adults, assistance with ADLs and iADLs, safe patient handling, ambulation and transfers, range of motion and positioning, nutrition and hydration, cultural competence, meal preparation, home management and basic housekeeping, two hours of training on assisting with medication self-administration, an overview of HIV/AIDS, an overview of working with clients with diabetes, working with clients with challenging behaviors, behavioral supports, an introduction to dementia care, communication strategies in dementia care, and working with challenging behaviors in dementia care.
