Our collection of courses for the initial training Home and Community Based Service Providers, Direct Care Workers, is designed to meet the requirements stated in Section H. “Direct Care Staff Training” Title 48 § I-5055 of Louisiana’s Administrative Code.
This collection contains 14 courses, totalling 16 hours of training as required by Louisiana state regulations, and covers a number of topics including, patient’s rights, confidentiality, emergency and safety procedures, basic first aid and cpr, universal precautions, reporting and documentation, incident reporting, reporting elder abuse, and managing challenging behaviors. Please note that completion of our Basic First Aid course does not provide a Basic First Aid certification as required in the first 45 days of employment. Additionally, our elder abuse course has not been specifically approved by the Louisiana Dept. of Health. Additional training may be required on this topic.
This collection can be used as is, or combined with any of our other courses to create an efficient and engaging initial training program for your Louisiana-based HCBS Direct Care Worker team.
