Our collection of courses for orientation training of Assisted Living Facility Direct Care Staff in Maryland, is designed to meet the requirements of Section 10.07.14.19 - Other Staff - Qualifications of the Maryland Administrative code.
This collection contains 13 courses, totalling 14 hours of training, and covers a number of topics including, professionalism and ethics, fire safety, emergency response, infection prevention and control, basic food safety, the physical, emotional and developmental characteristics of the population served, residents’ rights, and behavioral supports, including de-escalation. Five hours of cognitive impairment and mental illness training are also supplied which include, an overview of mental illness care, communication strategies in dementia care, activities for adults with dementia, dementia palliation, and a gentle approach to dementia care, which focuses on person-centered care, the causes of responsive behaviors, the skills to manage challenging behaviors, and self care for caregivers.
This collection can be used as is, or combined with any of our other courses to create the ideal orientation training program for your Maryland-based Assisted Living Direct Care team.
